Meet Our Lead Servant
Pastor Alan Harris, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, commenced his preaching ministry at the age of nineteen and has served in full time ministry since he was twenty two years old.
Pastor Harris graduated from John E Lewis High School (formerly Robert E. Lee High School) in Springfield, Virginia. He then obtained his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Washington Bible College in Lanham, Maryland. His hunger and desire to be enriched intellectually and spiritually led him to matriculate at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where he obtained his Masters of Divinity (M. Div) and Masters of Theology (Th. M) Degrees. Realizing continued growth is a must, Pastor Harris recently completed his Executive Master’s of Business Administration at Virginia Union University.
Pastor Harris is dedicated to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and showing Christ-like love to everyone with whom he comes in contact. Believing the gospel is to be heard to “the ends of the earth,” Pastor Harris has been afforded the opportunity to preach in Austria, Toronto, Kenya and Haiti. Believing all individuals are made in the image of God, thus should be treated with dignity and respect, Pastor Harris is a strong advocate for social justice matters, he is also a member of the NAACP.
Pastor Harris has the distinct and signal honor of serving as the Lead Servant of the historic Beulah Baptist Institutional Church in Tampa, Florida. Since the beginning of his tenure (December 21st 2021), both online and in person attendance has increased significantly, new ministries have been implemented and improvements to the church’s facilities have been made. Pastor Harris has also intentionally emphasized the importance of Beulah being actively involved in the community. To that end, Beulah has officially adopted an elementary school in the community and taken part in various projects which minister holistically to the individuals in the community.
Pastor Harris is an avid sports fan who also enjoys traveling and reading. Pastor Harris acknowledges he has been tremendously blessed by God and he considers family one of God’s greatest blessings to him. He has been married to the lady of his dreams and lifelong best friend Joy L. Harris for 16 years and they are the proud parents of their beloved son, Isaiah Alan Harris, who is currently 11 years old.
Rev. Harris’ favorite Bible verse can be found in 1st Corinthians 15:10A “But by the grace of God, I am what I am.”
